Great interview and what a beautiful testimony!!!

I've learned more about pastor Rogers and his family than I ever knew before. First interview with his wife and directly following an interview with his daughter. Both great interviews, he was one of my favorite radio preachers for years before Liberty University decided that music was more important than broadcasting the gospel. Thankfully for at least now I have RUclips. Really enjoyed it!

All the messages of pastor Rogers I was blessed to hear over the years, but I never got to hear his wife's lovely singing. What a blessing she was to her husband. And this was an excellent interview, I know more than I ever did before, about he and his family. Thank you

Of course they're stressed. They're watching people walk out the church back door quicker than they can drag the 5yos to VBS. The church is putting it on THEM to grow the numbers. The business meetings are devolving into fights about how to pay the big mortgage AND the pastor, and can the church secretary's hours be cut to maybe 10 hours or even one day a week. The pastors aren't getting paid anything. They need to consider taking a job overnight at Home Depot or Lowes (which pays better than the day gig, btw) and struggle with sleep deprivation to do both. And there's a percentage of them who are atheists in those pulpits who have to figure out how they're going to get out of their chosen profession while putting food on their family's table. (The Clergy Project, if you're in that position. Do it today.)

Jerry is not Elvis' 2nd cousin and that Elvis letter is a fake! I am Jerry's common law wife and worked at Graceland as a Director for 24 years. I introduced Jerry to Priscilla and Lisa. You are a lovely, lovely lady Mrs. Rogers! I have listened to your husband's sermons everyday on my drive home from work and while doing activities around my home for the last 7-8 years. I listen to other preachers but always come back to Adrian. No other preacher can bring me closer to Jesus and make Jesus more alive to me than Adrian Rogers. I have heard the same sermon more than once and I always get something different from the message depending on what's going on in my life. I am so blessed to have his influence in my life everyday, whenever I want. Thank you for all the behind-the-scenes work you did for shaping the man Adrian Rogers was! I am so curious to know what Adrian wrote to you on the notes he dropped on your desk in grade 6. I guess that will be a good conversation and laugh when we're all together around the table with Jesus.

Amazing lady I hung out with then in 2003 for. 10 hours when I toured them around my town on an Alaska cruise retreat. Life changing They were. Solid as can be flirting with each other after 53 years of marriage. Man I miss “Doc”

November 8, 1965, Charley Company, 1st Battalion, 173rd, walked into a VC ambush on Hill 65, War Zone D. The company took more casualties and had more KIAs for a US unit than previously. Bravo Company moved to Charley Company's aid and also came under fire. Alpha remained on the battalion perimeter, although the first platoon made its way up the hill supporting Charley and Bravop. Lieutenant Ugland, Alpha's first platoon, who recently graduated from OCS, was KIA on the hill, a sniper victim. As a member of Alpha's headquarters section, I remained within the battalion perimeter during the long fire-fight. Over forty body bags lined the LZ, which engineers had cut out of the dense jungle. A few reporters tried to exit on the first relief choppers, and Captain Daniels, Alpha Company, refused to allow them onboard before the wounded and KIA were off the LZ. Noteworthy, Captain Daniels, LT Conneto (author of "The Hump"), myself, and a few other enlisted soldiers waited on the last choppers, which were late returning. For some time, the LZ was sniped at until Captain Daniels ordered Staff Sergeant Layhe (spelling?) into the bush to "zap" the sniper or snipers. Layhe promptly ended the sniping with a shotgun heard from the LZ. Layhe, sadly, was KIA in the Iron Triangle on January 11, 1966, as was my fire-team leader, SP4 Robbie Robinson. Layhe had a family waiting for his return (He operated the 35-foot tower when I had trained at jump school only months before. I introduced myself to him when he arrived and walked to the second platoon to check in for the first time. He was a seasoned "strack" paratrooper and a great model for young soldiers.) I took a lot away from Hill 65, which remained with me over the years. One, anticipating entering a fire-fight may be more emotional and frightening than taking part from the first contact. Second, if severely wounded and unable to exit the kill zone at night, fire on the enemy when they approach because they cut no slack to the wounded. On Hill 65, we heard Charley shooting our wounded in the head. I wanted to share something of that experience today for posterity. I have never glamorized the soldiers of the 173rd. I was and remain impressed by what I witnessed. SP4 "Robbie" Robinson became my friend soon after I joined his fire team. We shared the same foxhole, meals, and patrols; he was hit within two feet of me soon after we entered a hamlet lined with trenches and tunnels. This moment remained a fixture in my adult memory, and I sorely missed my fire-team leader's guidance and support. RIP PFC Evans Alpha, 1st Battalion, 173rd 65-66 Nov. 8, 2023
